3.3.11. The main checks and adjustments on the car (A4A42)

Check of level of oil (ATF) in AKPP
Conduct the car some time while oil (ATF) in a check point will not reach normal working temperature (70-80°C).
Establish the car on an equal, horizontal platform.
Press a pedal of a brake and move the AKPP selector lever consistently through all provisions (detaining him in each of them for some seconds) for filling with oil (ATF) of all hydrocontrol system of AKPP and the AKPP hydrotransformer, and then establish the selector lever in the situation "N".
Before extraction masloizmeritelny щупа, clear of dirt a place about it. Take out щуп and check an oil condition in a check point (ATF). At the following conditions it is necessary to execute major maintenance of a transmission:
– oil (ATF) in AKPP has a burned smell;
– oil (ATF) in AKPP has considerably black color;
– oil (ATF) in AKPP is polluted by a large number of metal particles.
Check that oil (ATF) level in AKPP is in a range of "NOTES" masloizmeritelny щупа. If level of oil (ATF) is lower specified, add it to a mark of "NOTES".
Oil for automatic transmissions (ATF): GENUINE HYUNDAI ATF SP-II M.
If oil (ATF) level in AKPP is lower normal, the oil pump will grasp oil together with air that will result in various malfunctions. The air which has got together with oil (ATF) to AKPP hydrosystem, forms vials which are at the bottom of oil foaming. As a result pressure in hydrosystem becomes unstable that in turn will lead to delay at gear shifting (late inclusion of transfers) and pro-slipping of frictional couplings or brakes etc. If level is higher normal, at the expense of rotation of gear wheels of planetary mechanisms there will be a plentiful foaming of oil (ATF) that as a result will lead to the same consequences, as well as at low level of oil (ATF), and becomes the reason of premature deterioration of a condition of oil.
In both cases air vials are at the bottom of an overheat, oxidations of oil (ATF) and adjournment of a varnish which puts out of action valves, couplings and executive mechanisms. Foaming also leads to oil (ATF) emission through сапун AKPP case that wrongly take for leaks.

Be convinced that attentively studied a condition of AKPP oil (ATF) on masloizmeritelny щупу before its installation into place (fig. 3.72).

Check of operation of the lever of the AKPP selector
Move the AKPP selector lever through all provisions, check smoothness of moving of the lever of the selector and its controllability. Check correctness of an inditsirovaniye of position of the lever of the selector.
Be convinced that the lever of the selector can be switched in each situation.
Start the engine and be convinced that when switching from «N» in the "D" car moves forward and when switching to «R» – back.
At malfunction of the lever of the selector adjust a cable of management of AKPP and the coupling of the lever of the selector. Check mobile parts of the mechanism of the lever of the selector assembled on lack of wear.

Adjustment of the switch of blocking of a starter (AKPP selector switch)
Establish the selector lever in the situation "N" (neutral situation).

Weaken a lock-nut of fastening of a cable of management of AKPP to the lever of manual control (manual control lever) (fig. 3.73).
Establish the lever of manual control in the situation "N" (neutral situation).

Weaken bolts of fastening of the switch of blocking of a starter and turn the switch case so that the opening of 12 mm on the end of the lever of manual control was combined with an opening of 12 mm in a flange of the case of the switch (fig. 3.74).
Tighten bolts of fastening of the switch the specified moment of an inhaling, without allowing change of position of the switch.
Moment of an inhaling of bolts of fastening of the switch of blocking of a starter: 10–12 N · m.

NOTE
Be careful at adjustment of position of the switch of blocking of a starter, do not drop ring laying (O-ring) from the switch case. Carefully tighten bolts of fastening of the switch.

Check that the lever of the AKPP selector is in the situation "N" (neutral situation).

Adjust a tension of a cable of management of AKPP a nut with a fillet so that the cable was slightly tense, then check smoothness of moving of the lever of the AKPP selector (fig. 3.75).
Execute road test and check compliance of included ranges to each position of the lever of the AKPP selector and be convinced that the transmission works normally at each of ranges.

Adjustment of the servo-driver of a brake of compulsory fall of transfer
Completely remove all pollution and other stuck particles round the adjusting screw of the servo-driver of a brake of compulsory fall of transfer.
Weaken a lock-nut.
Repeat two times of operation of an inhaling of the adjusting screw till 5 N · m and the subsequent easing.
After that tighten the adjusting screw the moment of an inhaling of 5 N · m, then unscrew the adjusting screw within 3–31/3 turns.

Tighten a lock-nut the specified moment (fig. 3.76).
Moment of an inhaling of a lock-nut: 15–22 N · m.

NOTE
Before assembly put DC780 hermetic on the central part of a carving of the adjusting screw.

Pressure adjustment basically магистали
Merge oil (ATF) from an automatic transmission.
Remove the AKPP oil pallet.
Remove the oil filter.

Press clamps of the sealing plug of a plait of wires of electromagnetic valves and press it in a transmission case (fig. 3.78).

Remove the block of operating valves assembled (valve body assembly). The valve of a choice of a range (manual valve) can drop out, therefore be careful, do not drop the valve (fig. 3.79).

Turn the adjusting screw of a regulator of pressure and adjust pressure in the main highway, (submitted to a brake of compulsory fall of transfer (kickdown brake pressure) so that it corresponded to nominal rate (fig. 3.80).
At turn of the adjusting screw of a regulator of pressure clockwise pressure in the main highway decreases, at turn of the adjusting screw counter-clockwise – increases.
Nominal rate: 860–900 kPas.
Change of pressure of oil at each turn of the adjusting screw: 38 kPas.
Check that ring laying is correctly established on the top surface of the block of operating valves.
Replace the sealing plug of a plait of wires of electromagnetic valves new ring laying.
Establish the block of operating valves in a case of a transmission and then from within insert the sealing plug of a plait of wires of electromagnetic valves into place. At installation be convinced that acting parts of the socket are located, as is shown in drawing 3.78. Be careful, do not jam a wire.
Tighten bolts of fastening of the block of operating valves assembled the moment of 10-12 N · m.
Establish the AKPP oil filter.
Establish new laying of the oil pallet and the oil pallet.
Fill in nominal amount of oil (ATF) in AKPP.
Execute pressure check in AKPP hydrocontrol system. If necessary repeat pressure adjustment.
