6.1.10. Dismantling, check, assembly and installation of the main brake cylinder

Fig. 6.32. Main brake cylinder

Removal
Disconnect the socket of the sensor of level of brake liquid.
Disconnect from the main brake cylinder brake tubes. Establish caps on open openings.
Unscrew nuts of fastening and remove the brake cylinder.

ATTENTION
Immediately delete the spilled brake liquid from the painted surfaces.

Dismantling
Uncover a tank and merge brake liquid.

Fig. 6.33. Tank removal

Unscrew screws of fastening of a tank and by means of a screw-driver take out a tank from consolidations of the brake cylinder (fig. 6.33).

Fig. 6.34. Removal of a lock ring

Remove a lock ring (fig. 6.34).

Fig. 6.35. Removal of a restrictive finger of the primary piston

Take out a restrictive finger of the primary piston, having pressed on the piston a screw-driver. Remove the primary piston (fig. 6.35).

Fig. 6.36. Removal of a restrictive finger of the secondary piston

Take out a restrictive finger of the secondary piston, having pressed on the piston a screw-driver. Remove the secondary piston (fig. 6.36).

NOTE
Primary and secondary pistons are not subject to dismantling.

Check
Check a condition of a mirror of the cylinder (the tease, a rust).
Estimate degree of wear of the cylinder, replace it if necessary.

NOTE
At damage of a mirror of the cylinder replace the main brake cylinder assembled.
Details of the main brake cylinder wash out alcohol.

Assembly
At installation grease all details with pure brake liquid.

Fig. 6.37. Sequence of installation of the piston and springs

Carefully establish springs and pistons in the cylinder. Watch, that placement of details was correct (fig. 6.37).

Fig. 6.38. Installation of a lock ring

Press the piston a screw-driver and establish a lock ring (fig. 6.38).
Press the piston before complete compression of a spring and establish a restrictive finger.
Establish tank consolidations.

Fig. 6.39. Tank of the main brake cylinder

Establish a tank of the main brake cylinder (fig. 6.39).

Installation
Establish the main brake cylinder on the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
Establish the amplifier and the cylinder on a partition of a motor compartment.
Connect to the main brake cylinder brake tubes.
Connect to the amplifier a vacuum hose.
