In case of car towage with the lifted forward wheels be convinced that the parking brake is switched off.

In case of car towage with the lifted back wheels be convinced that the transmission is in neutral situation. Also be convinced that the ignition key is in the situation "ASS" («The additional equipment»). It is necessary for prevention of damage of the mechanism of blocking of a steering wheel which is not calculated on keeping of forward wheels in rectilinear situation during car towage. In case of damage any of details of the loaded wheels or a suspension bracket it is necessary to use the cart for towage.

Towage of the car equipped with an automatic transmission, back part of the car forward with the lifted back wheels is forbidden. It can seriously damage a transmission. In case of need car towages by a back part forward forward wheels should be on the towing cart. In case of car towage with the lifted forward wheels be convinced that the parking brake is switched off.

NOTE Before towage check liquid level in an automatic transmission. If it is below a mark of "NOTES" ("Hot") on щупе, add liquid. If to add liquid it is impossible, it is necessary to use the cart for towage.

In case of emergency towage, when there is no possibility to use wrecker services, fix a towing cable or a chain to one of towing hooks in the bottom forward part of the car (fig. 1.154).

Towage by this way should not be applied at damage of wheels, a running gear, axes, details of a steering or brake system. Before towage be convinced that the transmission is in neutral situation, and the ignition key in the situation "ASS" («The additional equipment») (when the engine does not work) or in the situation "ON" ("Incl.") (when the engine works). At towage the driver should be in the car to operate of.

ATTENTION If at towage all four wheels concern the earth, the towing cable should fasten only to a forward part of the car. Previously be convinced that the transmission is in neutral situation. To tow the car it is recommended not further, than on 25 km and not to exceed speed in 50 km/h. Be convinced that the ignition key is in the situation "ASS" and the steering mechanism is unblocked. The driver should is in the towed car to have possibility to operate a wheel and brakes.
