1.7.2. Engine startThe combined lock of ignition
If the car is equipped with a mechanical transmission, transfer the gear shifting lever to neutral situation and completely squeeze out a coupling pedal.
If the car is equipped with an automatic transmission, transfer the selector to the situation "R" ("Parking").
To start the engine, insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in the situation "START" ("Starter"). Release the ignition key at once after engine start. Do not hold the ignition key in the situation "START" ("Starter") more than 15 pages.

NOTE
With a view of safety the engine of the car cannot be started, if the selector of an automatic transmission is not in the situation "R" ("Parking") or «N» («Neutral transfer») (only for cars with an automatic transmission).

Positions of the lock of ignition
«LOCK»: "Blocking".
"ASS": «Additional equipment».
«ON»: "Is included".
«START»: "Starter".
«START».
In this situation the starter works. It turns a cranked shaft of the engine until ignition will be switched off.
«ON».
In this situation the engine works, and all electric systems can be included. It is not necessary to leave the ignition key in the situation "ON" when the engine does not work. It will lead to the category of the storage battery and an exit of system of ignition out of operation.
"ASS".
When the ignition key is in this situation, it is possible to include some electric systems (a radio radio tape recorder, the lighter, etc.).
«LOCK».
The ignition key can be inserted or will take out only in this situation.

NOTE
To unblock a steering wheel, insert a key into the lock of ignition and, having slightly turned a wheel, at the same time turn the ignition key.

To take out a key from the ignition lock:
– turn the ignition key in the situation "ASS".
– at the same time press and turn the ignition key counter-clockwise from the situation "ASS" in the situation "LOCK".
Engine start (for cars with system of the distributed injection of fuel)
1. The driver and all passengers being in the car, should fasten the corresponding seat belts.
2. Check, that the parking brake was switched on.
3. Press a brake pedal.
Cars with a mechanical box before.
Completely press a pedal of coupling and transfer the gear shifting lever to neutral situation. Hold a coupling pedal in completely pressed situation in starter operating time.
Cars with automatic transmission.
Transfer the lever of the switch of ranges to the situation "R" ("Parking"). If it is necessary to start the engine under way the car, transfer the lever of the switch of ranges to the situation "N" ("Neutral").

NOTE
Cars with automatic transmission.
Inclusion of a starter is blocked, if the lever of the switch of ranges is not in the situation "R" ("Parking") or «N» ("Neutral").

5. Turn the ignition switch in the situation "START" ("Starter") and hold the handle in this situation before engine start-up (but not more long 10 c).
6. After start-up let's to the engine work idling about 10 pages.

NOTE
If the key turns in the ignition lock hardly, shake a steering wheel here and there to unload a locking element.
