The system of additional passive safety (SRS) is developed for use together with seat belts to raise safety level at road accidents and to reduce risk of a travmirovaniye at operation of face-to-face and lateral inflatable safety cushions by deduction of forward passengers on seats in case of front or lateral blow.
The system of additional passive safety (SRS) consists of the following elements: a face-to-face inflatable safety cushion of the driver (it is located in the center of a steering wheel) which contains the module with the combined safety cushion and the inflatable device (gas generator); a face-to-face inflatable safety cushion of the forward passenger (it is located in the dashboard from the passenger) which contains the module with the combined safety cushion and the inflatable device (gas generator); lateral inflatable safety cushions (located in external боковинах backs of seats of the driver and the forward passenger), each of which contains the module with the combined safety cushion and the inflatable device (gas generator); the electronic SRS control unit (it is established under the central part of the floor console) which operates all system; the sensor of acceleration (accelerometer) which defines car delay (blow existence outside); the hour spring of intermediate connection located in a steering column; electroconducting and system sockets; the knee buffer (knee bolster) located under a steering column. Function of recognition of blow outside in the electronic SRS control unit is carried out by the electronic sensor of acceleration which constantly measures acceleration of the car and transmits the corresponding signal through strengthening and filtering chains on the microprocessor. The system of additional passive safety (SRS) is developed in such a manner that inflatable safety cushions will work in case of failure at front or close to front blows of various force (from averages to strong).
To work on service of systems of additional passive safety (SRS), and also the related elements, the qualified personnel is allowed only. Before the work beginning the service personnel should study this management carefully. It is necessary to show extra care at SRS system service to avoid a travmirovaniye or death of the service personnel (as a result of unauthorized operation of a safety cushion), or the driver (as a result of not operability of SRS system after unqualified service or repair).
