2.3.1. Adjustment of a tension of a belt of a drive of GRM

Lift the car by means of a podkatny jack.

Slowly turn a steering wheel at first clockwise, then counter-clockwise.

NOTE Considerable resistance to turn should not be felt.

Remove an arm of a lateral support of the engine (fig. 2.87).

Remove a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid.

Remove the top cover of a belt of a drive of GRM (fig. 2.88).

Remove spark plugs.

Bring the cylinder No. 1 piston in VMT of a step of compression, having turned a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise.

NOTE Never turn a cranked shaft counter-clockwise for combination of labels as it can lead to the wrong tension of a belt of a drive of GRM.

Weaken a bolt of sharnirny fastening and an adjusting bolt of an arm of a roller of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.89).

Turn a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise so that the asterisk of a camshaft turned on 2 teeth.

NOTE Camshaft turn in situation at which its cams do not press yokes of final valves, is necessary for creation of the correct tension of a belt.

Check that normal gearing of a belt of a drive of GRM with asterisks (each tooth of a belt on an asterisk is located in a flute) is provided.

Tighten at first an adjusting bolt, then tighten a bolt of sharnirny fastening of a roller of a natyazhitel (fig. 2.90).

Check a tension of a belt of a drive of GRM.

Establish spark plugs.

Establish the top cover of a belt of a drive of GRM.

Establish a pulley of the pump of cooling liquid and an arm of a lateral support of the engine.
