3.4.1. Removal, check and installation of a shaft of a drive of a forward wheel

Lift the car and remove a forward wheel.

Remove шплинт and unscrew a nut of fastening of a shaft of a drive of a wheel to a wheel nave.

Merge oil from a transmission.

By means of a plastic hammer disconnect a shaft of a drive of a wheel from a wheel nave (fig. 3.116).

Pull a wheel nave outside from the car and separate from it a shaft of a drive of a wheel.

Insert mount between a case of a transmission and the case of the CV JOINT of a shaft of a drive of a wheel, and then disconnect a shaft of a drive of a wheel from a transmission (fig. 3.117).

ATTENTION Be careful at a detachment of a shaft of a drive of a wheel by means of mount, do not damage a case of a transmission and the shaft CV JOINT. In order to avoid damage of an epiploon do not insert mount too deeply (at most 7 mm). Do not extend a shaft of a drive of a wheel with considerable effort as similar operation will lead to damage of internal details of the CV JOINT «Birfilda of BJ» or «Tripod TJ» a shaft of a drive of a wheel (a rupture of a cover or bearing damage).

ATTENTION By means of a special cap close an opening in a transmission for hit prevention in dirt and extraneous particles. Reliably hold a shaft of a drive of a wheel. Always replace a lock ring (retainer ring) after a detachment of a shaft of a drive of a wheel from a transmission.

Check a protective cover of the CV JOINT of a shaft of a drive of a wheel on absence of damages and deterioration of a technical condition.

Check spherical hinges on lack of the increased wear and mobility.

Check a shlitsevy part of a shaft of a drive of a wheel (and naves) on lack of the increased wear or damages.

Check a dynamic damper on absence of damages or cracks.

Grease with transmission oil of a shlitsa of a shaft of a drive of a wheel and a surface of contact of the case of differential (in a transmission).

Before installation of a shaft of a drive of a wheel arrange a lock ring so that its lock was directed down.

After installation of a shaft of a drive of a wheel check that the shaft is reliably fixed and cannot be removed by hand.

Establish a washer the convex party outside, then establish a nut of fastening of a shaft of a drive of a wheel and шплинт (fig. 3.119).

Always replace самоконтрящуюся a nut of fastening of a shaft of a drive of a wheel and шплинт new after each detachment of a shaft from a nave.
