2.7.9. System of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases

The maintenance of toxic components in the fulfilled gases (WITH, CH, NOX) is supervised by a combination of changes in the engine and addition of special elements of management.
Changes of chambers of combustion, inlet collector, camshaft and system of ignition form the main control system.
Listed above change were united in effective system which operates decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases supporting good controllability the engine and fuel profitability.

Control system of structure fuel - an air mix
(system of the distributed injection of fuel (MFI))
Using signals of the oxygen sensor, the system of the distributed injection of fuel (MFI) operates the moment of the beginning of opening and duration of an open condition of the nozzle established in an inlet collector for each cylinder so that to provide optimum structure of an air and fuel mix and to reduce toxicity of the fulfilled gases.
Thanks to it the fulfilled gases made by the engine, correspond to the special structure, giving the chance applications of three-componental catalytic converter for decrease in concentration of toxic substances. Catalytic converter is applied to transformation of three groups of harmful substances (1 hydrocarbons (SN), the 2nd oxide of carbon (WITH) and the 3rd oxides of nitrogen (NOH)) in harmless substances.
The system of the distributed injection of fuel (MFI) can work in two modes:
– management without feedback on structure of an air and fuel mix («open-loop») is carried out according to the data which have been written down earlier in the electronic control unit by the engine;
– feedback control on structure of an air and fuel mix («closed-loop») is carried out according to the signals of the oxygen sensor arriving in the electronic control unit by the engine.
