7.2.2. Check of a power-supply circuit of a genrator

Arising at rotation of a rotor of the generator the variation magnetic field induces in a winding of a phase of a stator a variable on size and the EDS direction (alternating voltage).

1. Transfer a key of the lock of ignition to the situation "ON".

2. Be convinced that the control lamp of the category of the storage battery burns at the included ignition and the idle engine.

3. Disconnect the socket of the resistor of a winding of excitement.

Connect ohmmeter samplers to conclusions 1 and 3 (from the resistor). Connect a wire (+) an ohmmeter to a conclusion 3, and a wire (–) an ohmmeter – to a conclusion 1 (fig. 7.9).

ATTENTION If samplers of an ohmmeter are connected incorrectly, the result of measurements will be incorrect. Be convinced that samplers of the device correctly and are reliably connected.

If the chain is closed at performance of conditions of points 2 and 3, the chain is serviceable.

If the chain is opened at performance of conditions of points 2 and 3, the chain, but the storage battery in norm is faulty.

If the chain is opened only at performance of conditions of point 2, it is necessary to check and repair a chain of a control lamp a discharge of the storage battery.

If the chain is opened only at performance of conditions of point 3, check and if necessary replace the resistor of a winding of excitement.

NOTE If the chain is opened only at performance of conditions on one of points (2 or 3), the system will be all the same efficient. However it is necessary to repair a faulty chain that the system of a charging worked more reliably.
